Area Sofa
Area originates from a simple and universal childhood memory: building small shelters out of cushions, transforming a bed or a sofa into a protected, intimate place where imagination could reshape the experience of space. This image became the starting point for a collection in which the cushion acts as a generative module. Repeated and combined, this archetypal element gives rise to an entire seating system. Seat, backrest and armrests are conceived as independent soft volumes that define a space around the body, creating a natural sense of comfort and protection. A slender metal frame subtly elevates the generous upholstered volumes, establishing a balance between visual lightness and material presence. The archetypal geometry of the cushions and their inherent softness define the collection’s identity, making it feel both instantly familiar and distinctly recognizable.
The name Area refers to a defined portion of space, a place where people pause, work, meet and spend time together. More than a family of upholstered pieces, Area is conceived as a system of intimate landscapes designed to welcome the body and encourage a natural relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.
